Accoya® wood is produced using a patented process that effectively converts certified, sustainably grown non‑durable solid wood into a high value, durable, stable and reliable “new wood species” via acetylation. Accoya® wood answers the need for an environmentally compatible alternative to increasingly scarce tropical hardwoods and artificial materials such as UPVC. Accoya® wood has already been used in a wide range of applications across Europe.
Diamond Wood engaged MaisonWorleyParsons to prepare a feasibility study, project application report and conceptual design. This was subsequently expanded to include basic engineering and EPCM services.
The use of innovative new technologies and renewable and sustainable resources to produce alternative materials on a cost effective basis is a key focus area for our EcoNomics™ initiative. As the first major commercial application of the Accoya® wood technology in China, MaisonWorleyParsons will provide management and technical expertise to enhance the overall energy efficiency of the project and assist Diamond Wood to meet its environmental objectives.
