Following the acquisition of this pipeline by the consortium of DUET, Alcoa and Alinta in 2004, WorleyParsons was selected as the EPCM Contractor for the $430 million Stage 4 Expansion Project.
Completed in December 2006, the DBNGP Stage 4 Expansion project, delivers an additional 20% capacity and overall improvement in operational reliability of the pipeline. The 1540km pipeline, which traverses the majority of the coastline of Western Australia from Dampier to Bunbury is essential to providing the energy necessary for the continuing development of Perth and the South West of the State.
The project scope included the installation of eight (8) compressors, 217km of looped pipeline and all associated equipment. WorleyParsons has been involved with the project since concept development, providing engineering and procurement services throughout the execution phase and construction management and responsibility for the commissioning of the new facilities.
